How can i stop eating from boredom?
Sometimes i eat when i'm bored.I'm not usually an emotional eater,but i can be.I hate it.I can control myself and don't necesserily need to eat,but i always feel empty,and wanna eat.Like now.I'm chewing some sugar gum to get over the craving,but feel empty.But i'm definitely NOT hungry.I'm not overweight,but i will be if i keep eating out of boredom!!What can i do to get over it and keep myself busy? - Try to stick to a planned 5 meals a day (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner)... and when you feel the urge to eat out of thoes 5, do one of these things. 1- Have a glass of water. Often times this will cure my urges to eat, it is filling and if you drink it slow enough, the urge will pass 2- write in a journal... Write what you feel, why you are eating, or just write about your day, it will take your mind off of the meal you want 3- try some deep breathing... Sometimes its relaxing and helps focus your body on other things 4- Do something you enjoy... a hobby perhaps... something that will take your mind off of the idea of eating and focus it elsewhere. hope this helps :)
- I Don't really hav an answer to that, cause i do the same sometimes. But try and find things to help you pass time with things you enjoy doing...going for walks, hanging out with mates etc. I hope this helps ya out La8erz!!!

- Everyone is like that. If they're in front of the TV, they get bored and eat. Whenever I get the urge to eat something in front of the TV, I just grab a healthy snack like a piece of fruit or nuts or I walk on the treadmill for half an hour.
- Find a good hobby or a project. For example, sometimes, I'll get a computer game that takes hours to finish. So I'll completely skip meals because I'm so into finishing the game. If you don't like computer games, you could read a book or build something- anything to keep your mind occupied. Learn to play an instrument. You'll impress people if you get really good at playing a musical intrument.
- I can relate to your question, as I'm sure others can too. What I like to do to keep from eating out of boredom is to go out and find a favorite activity to throw myself into. Like you could be into drawing, writing, walking around, chatting with friends....maybe even dancing until you have a valid reason to eat! Whatever you do, stay active with something you like to do. As for the sugar gum, it's probably not a good idea to have it since it'll probably make you feel hungry anyway, though I won't argue if it helps curb the cravings. Drink lots of water since that feeling usually signals a need for hydration in the body. And don't kick yourself if you slip up...you're human, and it happens. Try again next time! - 1.Find some else that really interest you that doesn't deal with food. 2.Go to place where there isn't a food source. 3.Don't buy too much food. 4.Ask a doctor for advise. 5.Cook for other people. 6.Go outside more than inside.
