- binge eating is ok depending on what you eat. Veggies plain uncooked are great for this. Also fruits. Add in mostly fat free low calorie snacks. Also get at least 30 minutes of excersize a day but don't overdue it. If all else fails talk to your doctor about it.
- I eat when I'm bored too! The best way to stop is to distract yourself! If you're watching tv, take up some activity to keep your hands busy. Learn to cross-stitch or knit or crochet. Paint your fingernails so that you won't want to mess them up. Suck on a hard lollipop, so that your mouth is busy. Try planning your day so that you have less "down time." Go for a walk or a bike ride or do something that will get you out of the house and away from the food. Get involved in a good book which might take your mind off eating for awhile. Find a project: create a website, put all your pictures in scrap books, clean out your closets, write your grandmother a letter, learn to sew, do a crossword puzzle--ANYTHING to take your mind off eating. Try approaching this like an alcoholic would approach not drinking..."for this hour I can stay away from food." Don't look at the big picture, but break it up into tiny increments of time that are easier to handle. Never think, "I have to diet forever to get this weight off!" Only think, "I have to diet for today." Brush your teeth often, chew sugarless gum, or use mouthwash often to get a flavor in your mouth that won't taste good with food. To help you lose weight, check out the website below. There's really good info. on motivation and there are some good short-term diet plans designed to help you lose weight quickly. Once you get some quick weight off, you'll be mentally ready to look at the big picture and decide exactly what you need to do to tackle the problem and make some lasting lifestyle changes. Good luck!!
- I find that you can still snack from time to time, but make sure it doesn't take over your life. When you do snack make sure it's healthy. Find a healthy food (fruit or vegetable) that you really like. For me it's carrots! I have learned to love them, and am addicted. When I want to snack, I snack. I grab like 4 handfuls of carrots and eat away. IF you are trying to loose weight do it healthy. Try to boost your metabolism by eating six small meals a day and eats lots of fiber, protein (nuts), lean meats, and lots of fruits and vegetables. Try to cut back on junk food. #1 suggestion: RUNNING! I know most people dread it and hate it, I did too when I first started. The first two weeks were bad, I was sore, and tired and it was hard. Over time I built up to it and now I'm addicted! Just start out easy, walking a mile, jogging a mile, running a mile, then 2, then 3. Before you know it you'll be running 6-8 miles a day, and the pounds will just shed off without you knowing it. Also exersice helps to prevent you from getting cravings and hungry all the time. When you run you want to be healthy and you'll subconciously start eating healthier and less. When your bored instead of reaching for the bag of chips, lace up your tennis shoes and go for a jog...your body will thank you forever!
